Overview
A one-day masterclass on Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE) bringing together gastroenterologists, allergists, dietitians, and pathologists to update the multidisciplinary EoE community on the rapidly evolving diagnostic and therapeutic landscape. Eosinophilic Esophagitis has emerged as one of the most common causes of dysphagia and food impaction in young adults in Saudi Arabia, with international prevalence approaching 1 in 2000. The course covers the AGA/JTF 2020 diagnostic criteria, the role of newer biologics (dupilumab and other targeted IL-4/IL-13 and IL-5 strategies), Six-Food Elimination Diet (SFED) versus the empiric one-food / step-up approaches, the use of EndoFLIP to characterise distensibility and target dilation, and a structured multidisciplinary management pathway adaptable to Saudi practice. Supported by Sanofi as an unrestricted educational grant; all scientific content is owned and approved by the Saudi Gastroenterology Association.
